I was honored to attend the 52nd National Unity Day celebration at the Cameroonian Embassy in Berlin on May 25, 2024. Alongside H.E. Mr. NDOCKI Victor, his spouse, and his colleagues, numerous friends of Cameroon, including representatives from German administrations, diplomats, investors, and many compatriots, gathered to celebrate peace, unity, and solidarity.

As I interacted with the guests, I was struck by the significance of Cameroon's role in African affairs. With its strategic location, diverse economy, and rich cultural heritage, Cameroon is a vital player in African affairs. Its ports and infrastructure make it a key player in international trade, and its natural resources, including oil, gas, and minerals, make it an important producer of energy and raw materials.

Moreover, Cameroon's cultural diversity is a significant asset. With over 250 ethnic groups and more than 300 languages spoken, the country is a melting pot of African cultures. Its music, dance, and cuisine are a reflection of this diversity, and it is no wonder that Cameroon is often referred to as the "melting pot" of Africa.
But what made this evening truly unforgettable was the chance encounter with a long-time friend from my university days. It was Arsène Asseng, who I had started studying with at Ilmenau University of Technology exactly 10 years ago! We met randomly at the embassy, and it was like no time had passed at all. We reminisced about our student days, shared stories about our lives since then, and even exchanged numbers to stay in touch.

I was particularly grateful for the opportunity to represent Africa GreenTec at this event, as we are committed to supporting sustainable energy solutions in Africa. It was a privilege to be part of this celebration and look forward to continuing our partnership with Cameroon in the future.
Best wishes to Cameroon, and I'm looking forward to my next visit.
